Love, unity, and Claretian pride filled the Gallardo Hall of Claret School of Quezon City on February 14, 2026, as the Grades 9 and 10 community gathered for the Family Day celebration.

Aptly held on Valentine’s Day, the event highlighted the theme: “Walking with Claretian Pride, Together We Stand Unified!”

The celebration began with the Holy Mass presided by Fr. Victor F. Sadaya, CMF, PhD, School Director. In his homily, Fr. Sadaya emphasized the importance of the family as the foundation of love, faith, and character formation. He reminded everyone that beyond academic excellence, it is the values learned at home and meaningful encounters that shape students into compassionate and responsible individuals.

The program proper followed, hosted by Mommy Nina Ricci Alagao-Flores and Mommy Katherine “Kayen” Lazaro, who kept the energy warm and engaging throughout the event.

Mr. Greg Louise J. Binag, Cluster Leader of Grades 9 and 10, underscored the significance of Family Day as a celebration not only of talent but also of unity among students, parents, and teachers.

Meanwhile, Mrs. Evelyn Angeles, OIC-Principal, warmly welcomed the Claretian families and expressed her gratitude to everyone who worked behind the scenes to make the event a success.

A major highlight of the program was the variety show performances from the five sections of Grade 9 and five sections of Grade 10. Each class showcased impressive talents through song and dance, dedicating their performances to their parents and to friends they consider family.

In Grade 9, Andres Sola, CMF emerged as the winning class with their vibrant cultural dance inspired by the Sinulog Festival.

For Grade 10, St. Francis of Assisi won with a moving choral performance of songs that represented their growth and shared experiences through the years. Both winning classes received a cash prize of ₱10,000.

A cherished and much-anticipated tradition of Family Day also took center stage: the special dance performance by the parents and teachers. True to form, they wowed the audience with their energy and enthusiasm, drawing cheers and applause from students.

Adding to the excitement were lively BINGO games that brought families together. The event also featured raffle draws, with each grade level holding a grand raffle prize worth ₱20,000.

Special recognition was given to the talented students who designed the Family Day shirts: Arkin Jared Sibayan of Grade 9 Faustino Perez, CMF, and Jared Clyde Hardy Pagulayan of Grade 10 St. Francis of Assisi. Their creativity became a symbol of this year’s celebration of unity and pride.

Adding to the festive atmosphere were several food booths set up around the venue, offering a variety of snacks and meals for everyone to enjoy.

The program concluded with messages of gratitude from the PTA Level Presidents, Mrs. Riza Khawaja for Grade 9 and Mrs. Marilen Cabanban for Grade 10.

Indeed, Family Day 2026 was more than just a school event. It was a meaningful reminder that as one Claretian family, walking together in pride and unity, love remains at the heart of the community. #ScientiaMaximeCumVirtute
