This morning, February 18, 2026, the Claret School of Quezon City (CSQC) community gathered to begin the Lenten season. At 7:30 AM, administrators, personnel, students, and other members of the school community joined the Eucharistic Celebration at the school quadrangle, where the faithful received ashes on their foreheads, a sacred sign calling all to repentance, humility, and conversion of heart.

Fr. Victor F. Sadaya, CMF, PhD, School Director, presided the Mass with Fr. Julius Jose A. Coching, CMF, and Fr. Jeffrey C. Rasay, CMF, as concelebrants. In his homily, Fr. Victor reminded everyone that no life is insignificant. He emphasized the importance of valuing one another’s presence and living with humility. He also repeatedly stressed the value of being in a “tahanan,” a home where everyone is listened to, cared for, and truly valued, a vision he has been promoting within the community from the very beginning. He encouraged all to be “breathers of life” to others, sharing the joy and hope that come from being close to the Lord.

For the younger students, Service of the Word were held at 9:30 AM and 1:00 PM at the Heart of Mary Chapel for Nursery and Kinder. The youngest members of the community also received ashes on their foreheads as part of this Service, allowing them to experience this meaningful Lenten tradition.

Today’s celebration was a reminder that Lent is not only about prayer and sacrifice but also about cherishing each other, spreading life and hope, and living as a true “tahanan” for one another—where love and God’s presence are at the center of all we do. #ScientiaMaximeCumVirtute
