There are moments when service becomes more than an act—it becomes a lived expression of one’s deepest values. Such was the spirit that defined the community outreach program conducted by the Grade 2 students and parents of Claret School of Quezon City for the Day Care children of Barangay Camias, Porac, Pampanga on March 14,2026.

Anchored in the Claretian core values of Compassion, Humility, Empowerment, Excellence, Respect for Life, and Service, the initiative went beyond providing material assistance. It became a meaningful expression of shared humanity—an opportunity to bring joy, affirm dignity, and create lasting memories for the children and their families.

Laughter and excitement filled the activity venue as children eagerly participated in games such as “Boat is Sinking,” “Caterpillar,” and “Bring Me with a Twist.” These simple yet joyful activities ensured that each child felt included, valued, and celebrated in their uniqueness.

A surprise presentation from the Day Care children and volunteer students from CSQC added energy and delight to the program, strengthening the bond between volunteers and the members of the community. One of the most meaningful highlights of the day was the distribution of gifts prepared with care and generosity from sponsors and partners of the outreach activity. Each gift symbolized not only generosity but also service and empowerment—responding to the needs and dreams of the children and their families.

Beyond the activities and donations, the outreach experience left a deep impression on the Grade 2 students who participated. Many of them returned home with thoughtful questions: Why don’t they have money to buy food or slippers? Why don’t the children have toys? Why do they live in the mountains? These sincere reflections revealed how their hearts were touched upon seeing the situation of our Aeta brothers and sisters. In the process, the boys also realized how blessed they are and began to appreciate the many things they often take for granted.

Despite their young age, the grade 2 students expressed great joy in being able to share whatever blessings they have. For them, the experience became an important lesson in compassion and gratitude—learning that even small acts of kindness, a simple gift, or a shared moment of play can bring happiness and hope to others.

The program concluded with a heartfelt expression of gratitude, followed by food distribution and a group photo—capturing not only images but the spirit of unity and joy that defined the day. Members of the Aeta community expressed their profound gratitude for the blessings they received. For some families, the gifts fulfilled long-held dreams. One mother shared with emotion that the skateboard given to her child was something he had always wished for—“Pangarap na pangarap niya po iyon.”

Even after the program ended, the joy remained evident. Smiles lingered, laughter echoed, and the sense of connection endured. For both the community and the volunteers, the experience became a powerful reminder that living out one’s values—especially service and compassion—can create meaningful and lasting impact.

The outreach program in Barangay Camias served as a beautiful expression of faith in action and values in practice. The project initiated by the Grade 2 Team was made possible through the partnership with the Faith Education and Enrichment Team (FEET) of CSQC and UNBOUND Quezon Project, Inc., together with the generous support of sponsors Blue Macay, Universal Robina, Taurex, Monde Nissin, the Department of Agriculture, McDonald’s, and the Bureau of Plant Industry.

Looking ahead, the Grade 2 Team hopes that this partnership will continue to grow—bringing more opportunities to extend compassion, share blessings, and inspire hope among communities in need. #ScientiaMaximeCumVirtute
