In the spirit of missionary collaboration especially within the Octave of Easter, the Grade 3 Claret School of Quezon City-Parent-Teacher Association in coordination with the Faith Enrichment Education Department (FEED) spearheaded an outreach activity to Cornerstone tutees of San Vicente Elementary School Quezon City (SVES-QC) last April 15, 2023. The outreach initiative benefited thirty students of San Vicente Elementary School who are under the Cornerstone Program of Couples for Christ (CFC) and the Ateneo Center for Educational Development (ACED).

A group of 23 Claretian parents with their children together with five Grade 3 Level faculty spent the Saturday morning with the said recipients of mission. During the morning program, games, presentations and performances, and plenary and individual learning sessions were done to have a meaningful encounter. A Claretian student, Maurice Timothy Montojo, rendered a surprise number by playing the violin and the saxophone. A simple salu-salo prepared by the CSQC-PTA also capped the morning.

As part of the sharing after the individual learning session, learning kits containing pencils, eraser, sharpener, pad paper, writing notebooks, a box of crayons, sketch pad, coloring books, and storybooks were distributed together with hygiene kits.

The CFC North B Cornerstone Program Coordinator, Mr. Art Zuñiga thanked the Claretian parents, teachers, and students for this significant missionary collaboration.

Indeed, with the initiative of Mrs. Ruth Mejico, the Grade 3 CSQC-PTA President and the entire Grade 3 CSQC-PTA, together with the assistance of Mrs. Lorelie C. Guevarra, the Student Affairs and Formation Coordinator of Grades 1-3 and the class advisers of the level, the said outreach activity is an exemplar of the Claretian community’s sensitive response to the plight of the poor and the needy. #ScientiaMaximeCumVirtute
