After three successive years of festive and activity-filled celebrations since its 50th Foundation Anniversary in 2017, CSQC celebrated its 53rd year last October 24 in a subdued and virtual manner. The first ever virtual celebration will be forever remembered in the history of Claret School of Quezon City.
Embracing the theme: “Afire with Mission in the Service of the Gospel—Sent in Communio with the Congregation and with the Church,” the entire School Community gathered virtually as each Claretian embraced with gratitude the memory of St. Anthony Mary Claret and the gift of Claret School of Quezon City. The community had to rekindle the fire of mission shared by all Claretians with the Claretian Missionaries and with the Church.
The day started with the Community Mass which was presided by Fr. Mon Andrei Ebdani, CMF, a newly-ordained Claretian Missionary priest now assigned in the mission in Zamboanga Sibugay. This was followed by the student activities prepared by the Samahang Barangayette ng Claret for the Grade School Unit and by the Central Board of Students for the High School Unit. The GS activity was entitled “Making a Mark” which was an online exhibit of students’ art works, prayers, photo stories and poetry inspired by the virtues of St. Anthony Mary Claret. On the other hand, the HS Activity was entitled “Virtual Carnival” which included virtual games for each grade level centered on some facts and information about CSQC and St Anthony Mary Claret.
The celebration was capped by the 2020 GAWAD PARANGAL: Pagkilala sa mga Kaagapay sa Misyon to honor the school personnel who have served the School for five, ten, fifteen, twenty, twenty-five and thirty years . This was also the occasion to recognize those who have reached the fullness of service in CSQC. During the program, the members of the TWG (Technical Working Group) who have worked hard to assist in the online platform of the School and those who have achieved perfect attendance last school year 2019-2020 were acknowledged.
As CSQC celebrated its 53rd year, the members of the School Community were challenged by the School Director to heed“the call to be sent not by one’s own right and privilege but always in solidarity with the Congregation and with the Church— (and to) share the faith and mission received in this community, the Claret School of Quezon City.”
