On February 14, 2024, the Claretian Community began the Lenten Season with the observance of Ash Wednesday Liturgy. The Service of the Word was held for the Nursery to Grade 2 students at the Gonzalez Hall. Simultaneously, the Grades 3, 9, 10 and SHS students celebrated the Holy Eucharist at the IHMP Church while Grades 4 to 8 had their Eucharistic Celebration at the Gallardo Hall.

As special part of the liturgy, members of the CSQC Liturgical Team were commissioned during the Rite of Commissioning towards the end of the Mass. The said Liturgical Team includes extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion, lectors, commentators, choir members, servers, and assistants in liturgical art and environment. All the commissioned members of the Liturgical Team will actively assist in ensuring meaningful liturgical celebrations at CSQC.

Likewise, in the spirit of charity, the FEED launched the Lenten Pondo Claretiano to help support the Claretian Missions. On the other hand, all the offerings at Mass will also be distributed during the Alay Kapwa encounter with the school’s partner communities.

With the imposition of ashes, Claretians are reminded of the meaning of Lent. At the Gallardo Hall, Fr. CJ Mortela used the acronym A-S-H as an invitation for all to live in adoration, service and holiness. It is, then, hoped that the Lenten journey will be a time of renewal for the school community to be audacious in mission. #ScientiaMaximeCumVirtute
