As part of the International Literacy Day 2021 celebration, students and teachers of the Grade School Unit showed their creativity, resourcefulness, and confidence in dressing up as story characters and pandemic frontliners. The attires adhered to this year’s theme, “Literacy for a human-centered recovery:narrowing the digital divide,”set by UNESCO. The theme recognizes the importance of literacy during the pandemic.

During the Student-Adviser Time (SAT), students shared why they chose the attire they were wearing. Fictional characters such as kings and princes, Marvel and DC superheroes, Harry Potter, and a lot more were portrayed by students. Frontliners such as doctors, nurses, delivery services, and farmers were also depicted.

Despite being in an online set-up, the Grade School Unit was able to highlight the importance of Literacy and celebrate as one academic community.
