Problem Solving Made Easier

Last July 28, 2018, parents of students from Grades 1 – 6 convened at the Claret Auditorium for a seminar entitled “Developing Your Child’s Problem Solving Skills”.  The seminar aimed to orient the parents on the program and at the same time mentor them on effective strategies so that teaching their children in problem solving will be easier.  The interactive seminar-workshop was co-facilitated by Scholastic Philippines.

As described by the speaker, Mr. Thomas Andrew V. Pinlac, “Scholastic PR1ME Mathematics is a forward-thinking and innovative mathematics program based on the curriculum standards and effective teaching and learning practices of the global top-performers in Mathematics – Singapore, Republic of Korea and Hong Kong”.

The new program aims to make Mathematics a more interactive and reality-based subject. It is more engaging and understandable for the students while ensuring that the skills Claretians will acquire in the subject are at par with global standards.

Parents of 255 students attended the seminar.  This is again a proof of the important partnership between the school and the home in working toward the continuing development of our young Claretians ‘education.
