Last August 10, 2019 Claret School of Quezon City welcomed students, teachers, coaches, administrators, parents, and guests from public and privates schools nationwide for the dry run activity which was held in the school auditorium. The program was spearheaded by Felta Multimedia, Inc. in collaboration with the robotics teachers of the School. It was a venue where student-participants practiced and tried out their robots with their coaches in preparation for the actual competition. The coaches also met and discussed the rules and guidelines set for the 18th Philippine Robotics Olympiad scheduled on September 2 - 6, 2019. The winners of this competition will represent the country in the World Robot Olympiad which will be held in Gyor, Hungary in November this year.

Despite the inclement weather, the program was successfully attended and participated in by more than 20 schools coming from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. The participants were warmly welcomed by the School Director, Fr. Mauricio T. Ulep, CMF. They were also entertained by the renowned dance group of the School, Claret Hataw with their fearless dance moves and Kian Icasiano with his disc jockey performance.

The Philippine Robotics Olympiad is a science, technology, and educational event which aims to offer our country’s promising elementary, secondary and college students the opportunity to expand their horizons through the exploration of robots and robotic systems in schools. It aims to provide opportunities to stimulate early design, engineering, and computing skills highly relevant towards progressive education. The PRO encourages the youth to become future engineers, scientists, and inventors to help the country become technologically driven.
